What are Microlocs?
Microlocs is a generic term for very small locs. Here at V-Nus Locs®, we like to further define the term as micro-interlocs, which is the process of interlocking small amounts of hair into a tight braid-like loc.
What are the benefits of micro-interlocs over traditional Locs?
All Locs have the potential to be beautiful, however, at V-Nus Locs we favour the microloc look because it's so versatile, easy to maintain and has much more styling possibilities over traditional Locs. Microlocs can be washed regularly, so is a great option for active people, and also has a much lower chance of going moldy as the Locs dry much faster due to their small size.

Traditional locs are also installed and maintained using heavy products, which can result in loc build-up, and differs significantly from micro-interlocs which uses no heavy products for Installations or Retightenings, drastically reducing the possibility of loc build-up.

Do you only provide one Microloc size?
We have a range of sizes that fit within the Microloc category that you can choose from, with our professional guidance. We are more than happy to discuss your options via a free Installation Zoom Consultation.
I wanted to get larger, more traditional-style interlocs installed. Is this a service you provide?
We are happy to have a chat with you via a free Zoom Consultation to see if we can provide you the service you need.
I think I want to start my Loc Journey with Braids or twists, is this something you can do?
Yes, we are happy to install starter locs using braids or twists, although the loc sizes will be within the larger ranges of our microloc grid sizing. We are happy to discuss the options with you via a free Installation Zoom Consultation.
How much do you charge to install?
Our prices vary depending on several factors, including hair length, density and which grid size you choose. You can find a guide to our prices HERE.
I already have Microlocs installed, can I still book a retightening with you?
Of course! We are happy to discuss your retightening needs with you via a free Zoom Retightening Consultation first, before any retightening sessions are scheduled.

Do you install or retwist traditional locs?
We only provide an interlocking service. We do not install or maintain traditional palm-rolled locs.
I have mobility issues, is there any way you can come to my home to install and retighten my Locs?
At V-Nus Locs, we understand that not everyone is capable of coming to us for their appointments. And because we want everyone to experience the joys of having microlocs like we do, we are more than willing to come to you if you live within the Berkshire area. Unfortunately, we do not travel beyond this area. Please contact us to discuss your needs to see if we can accommodate you. All at-home visits will incur a travel fee (per day for installs) on top of the service price charged.
Do you style microlocs too?
Our resident inter-loctition and stylist V, will be happy to discuss your styling needs for special occasions and events, however, we won't style your locs immediately after an Installation or Retightening as your scalp will already be tender and we don't want to compromise the integrity of the loc by putting further stress on the roots, which can result in hair loss, especially around the hairline. Do you provide a washing and treatment service?
We do not provide a washing or treatment service. All our clients are expected to come with their hair freshly washed for their appointments. We believe that knowledge is key in maintaining beautiful, healthy locs and that is why we have provided as much helpful information as possible through our Loc Maintenance Tips and Advice section, to help our clients manage their Locs with the best loc care practices possible.eg. scalp care, loc loss advice, various treatments and more. We will work together with you to make sure your locs are everything you want them to be.
